MORE STUDENTS ARE ENROLLING IN E-LEARNING COURSES IN INDIA AND MANY SCHOOLS DEVELOPED THEIR OWN LEARNING APP

There has been certain technical development over the previous decade that has enabled learning on an online platform possible. E-learning is a tool that has broadly been utilized and is becoming a part of the day to day activities of a school. Especially under the risk of COVID-19, it has moved rapidly and proficiently to fill the gap created by the suspension of physical classroom learning in schools, colleges and other educational institutions. Why are more and more students enrolling in E-learning courses?

As one after the other city started to get impacted by Coronavirus pandemic and its repercussions, students were sent home from a residential school in Bhubaneswar. ODMPS did not wish to take any risk on the lives of their students. At that time, there was no clear cut plan as to how the learning will continue. The supposition was that this would pass soon enough and the studies will not be affected and that the students could do some vacation. Now, as the infection has advanced starting with one area then onto the next, it has become increasingly clearer that this lockdown isn't leaving at any point in the near future. 

This has led to schools, universities and coaching centres to offer online education and not let students waste their time on Coronavirus, and this has led students enrolling in e-learning courses. ODM Public School is a CBSE school in Bhubaneswar that didn’t leave its students high and dry, but further ventured into creating a platform for its K-12 students where they can learn from their own teachers and clear any doubts on a real-time basis.  
 
Further some studies show that the Indian demography could make use of an online learning environment as many of the learners come from rural or semi-rural areas where educational facilities, be it school, college or entrance examination level is below par. The entire education ecosystem is taking measures to come together to ensure that the leaders of the future do not suffer during these times of crisis. While the educators are giving free access to their tools and technologies and schools creating their integrated platforms to engage, learners are responding by utilizing the opportunities in great numbers.

Further, ODM Public School Odisha has launched its YouTube channel apart from their online learning app which will stay for the time to come. And just like ODMPS, there are other educators who believe that this trend of e-learning will stay at par and grow as it offers the flexibility of time, pace and location that can’t be matched by anything else.
